Miranda-IM Instant Messaging/IRC client
Miranda-IM is an open-source IM/chat client for Windows. It requires no installation (binary can be downloaded as an executable installer, or as a *.zip archive), can be run from an external or "pluggable" drive, and is lightweight, requiring less than 2 MB disk space. While lightweight, it is geared toward the power user, and is very configurable. It supports multiple IM protocols "out-of-the-box", as well as IRC.
While Miranda's IRC capabilities are somewhat limited in comparison to heavyweights like xchat, it is still a nice option for those who prefer a lighter client which can be easily run from removable media, and which can also be used simultaneously for IM.
