How to connect your eggdrop THRU a different PSYBNC vhost on another shell.

The problem: You have a necessary eggdrop that protects your channel, and the vhosts get glined.

The Solution: connect your eggdrop THRU a PSYBNC Vhost on another shell.

This is not as difficult as it sounds.

After you connect your current eggdrop THRU a different shell PSYBNC and a different Vhost, the eggdrop will operate normally, but have the NEW shells Vhost!

This completely bypasses the gline on the eggdrops shell and allows normal usage of the bot until the eggdrops original vhost becomes open to use again.

This is the process to accomplish this operation

1. you dcc chat, or telnet the eggdrop in the normal way

2. you use the .jump comand from inside dcc/telnet and .jump < Psybnc host/port > .

3. now the tricky part...it will ask for the /quote pass and or if you want to use the /quote bvhost <new vhost>

4. at this point you use the eggdrop .dump pass PASSHERE ... and/or .dump bvhost <new vhost> commands to pick a new vhost on the psybnc side of the new shell.

Please note you just basically substitute the .dump for where you normally would use /quote.

5. you will be able to connect the eggdrop thru ANY available Vhost on the other shells Vhost list!.

6. this greatly improves the chances that the vhost you choose will not have a problem on that irc net.

I hope this is helpful information. It has helped us alot, because this way we did not have to MOVE the entire eggdrop to a NEW shell.. just because of a temporary K-line or G-line.
